Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the DigiLink mobile app (Android package com.alg.digilink) and this website process, and why. DigiLink is an independent amateur radio voice-link network client for radio amateurs, developed by ALGSoft Inc. Developer: Fatih ÖNDER (TB1TFO). The app contains no ads, no advertising ID and no third-party tracking/analytics SDK.
1. App Permissions
- Microphone: Used only while you hold the PTT (push-to-talk) button, to capture your voice and send it to the conference/repeater/link/station you are connected to. Audio is not recorded, not stored and never sent to DigiLink servers.
- Notifications: Used to show the ongoing notification required to keep the link running in the background, and link-status notifications.
- Location: Used only when you turn on Digi APRS. Your position is sent only to the APRS-IS network; APRS-IS is a public amateur radio network, so the position you send (together with your callsign) can be seen by anyone on maps such as aprs.fi. While Digi APRS is off, location is not used at all. Location is never sent to DigiLink servers.
- Internet / network state: Used to connect to the voice-link network, keep the link alive across Wi-Fi ↔ mobile data handovers, and make the server calls described below.
- Battery-optimization exemption / wake lock: Optional; used so the link does not drop while the screen is off.
2. Callsign and Password
The callsign and password you use to sign in to the voice-link network are stored on your device only. Your password is sent only to the voice-link network's official servers to sign in; it is never sent to DigiLink/ALGSoft servers. When you connect, your callsign and the details registered on that network are visible to its other users, as is inherent to amateur radio.
3. Usage Statistics
To see how many people use the app, on which version and platform, the app sends the following to this website's server at launch (and when you change your callsign):
- A randomly generated install id (contains no personal data; lost when the app is uninstalled)
- App version, operating system version, device model and device language
- The callsign you entered in Settings
- An approximate country and city, resolved at that moment from the IP address the request came from
Your raw IP address is never logged or stored; it is used only momentarily to look up the country/city (for this lookup the IP address is passed to the ipapi.co service) and is discarded immediately. This data is not sold or shared with third parties and is used only for aggregate usage statistics and app security (e.g. disabling a specific version).
4. App Control
For security and service continuity the app periodically reads from this website's server whether its platform has been temporarily disabled, whether there is an update suggestion or usage restriction for your app version, and the list of callsigns blocked for abuse. These requests only carry the platform name (e.g. "android") and the app version.
5. Presence
While you are connected to a network, the app reports your callsign, install id, platform and app name to the presence server shared by DigiLink and Digi Voice every few minutes. This lets other DigiLink and Digi Voice users recognize that you are connected through one of these apps when you talk. The record is deleted when you disconnect; if the connection drops it expires on its own within 15 minutes. The app also asks whether the callsigns shown on your screen are currently connected via DigiLink/Digi Voice; the full user list is never returned. Raw IP addresses are not stored.
6. App Log
The debug log stays on your device and is never sent anywhere automatically. It only reaches us if you explicitly choose to share it.
7. This Website
This site does not store raw IP addresses for visit statistics; only a daily salted, irreversible hash (SHA-256) is kept. When you use the contact form, your name, e-mail address and message are stored solely to reply to you. A single cookie (dl_lang) remembers your language; no tracking or advertising cookies are used and no third-party font/analytics scripts are loaded.
8. Retention and Security
Usage statistics are kept for as long as needed to operate the service; presence records are purged within 1 day at the latest. Data is kept on an access-restricted server and can be viewed only by authorized administrators.
9. Your Rights
Under the GDPR and Turkish KVKK (Law No. 6698) you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your data and to object to processing. To have your usage-statistics record deleted, write to fatih05onder@gmail.com with your callsign.
10. Children
DigiLink is intended for licensed radio amateurs and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
11. Changes and Contact
